Corrosion, preventing. - In electrical apparatus for preventing corrosion in steam-boilers and other liquid containers, an electrode is supported on the end of a metal bar extending some distance into the container, the bar being encased in a sleeve of insulating material applied so as to prevent access of liquid to the bar. The bar is bored centrally to allow liquid to escape when the inner end of the bar is exposed, and thus give an indication that the electrode has worn away. A carbon electrode a is supported by a metal bar b passing through the wall A of the container and encased in a sleeve d of insulating-material. An insulating-ferrule c, which sockets into the end of the sleeve, is fitted around the bar where it passes through the container wall. The bar is secured by nuts f.
