Picking - motions. - Relates to trip-gear for effecting the alternate release of the shuttle latches or catches on hollow rods a, Figs. 1 and 2, that positively carry the shuttle from side to side of a wireweaving loom. At the end of one, say the inward, movement of the Jay, star-wheels d1 on shafts d mounted in bearings d2 at each side of the lav meet fixed projections e, whereby the shafts d are turned so that other star-wheels d1 thereon are moved into such positions that, at one side of the loom, a projection, and, at the other side, a space, are brought opposite to the usual turned-back parts bl of the respective catch-disengaging rods b. These are thereby situated in such a manner that the catch on one of the rods is released from and the catch on the other rod engaged with the shuttle at the required moments. In a modification, the star-wheels are replaced by striking-plates f, f', Fig. 6, operated by projections e on slides g, which are moved up and down by cams or by projecting arms h attached to the trigger frames or shedding-frames of the loom,
