25,047. Caddy, S. C., and Welch, W. H. Nov. 1. Tread bands, projections, and surfaces.-The tread of a pneumatic tyre is reinforced with coiled springs. In the form shown in Fig. 1, separate springs have portions a2 extending obliquely to the tread surface c and circumferential anchoring-portions a'. Such springs may be arranged in rows with the portions a2 oppositely inclined. Fig. 2 shows a modification in which the separate springs are replaced by continuous sinuous bands.
