Brush-holders. - A brush-lifting device, particularly for use with rotary converters, comprises an arrangement by which the lifting-force is applied to the part supporting the spring so that the tension on the spring is released either slightly or entirely when the brushes are raised. The spring e is arranged between the brush c and a movable stop d, which is actuated from a ring n through a bell-crank lever g and links f. The brush c is lifted by the flexible lead m which is secured to the screw h by which the tension of the spring e is adjusted.
