Isobornyl esters; camphene .-In the process of producing a mixture of isobornyl ester and camphene from pinene hydrochloride or oily mixtures containing it, together with zinc fatty acid salt and fatty acid, another metal salt of the fatty acid, or the corresponding metal oxide is added at the end of the reaction or partly before and partly at the end of the reaction to decompose the zinc chloride formed. Salts and oxides of sodium, potassium, and lead are suitable.
