[Addition to 15,969/12.] Tripping-arrangements. - The automatic impression - cylinder tripping - mechanism of the offset printing-press described in the parent Specification is extended to the offset cylinder, the tripping means for this cylinder, however, being capable of being rendered inoperative when desired. The tripping-means for the offset cylinder comprise eccentric, lever, and link mechanism 128, 127, 126, 125, 109, 108, 107, 106, the arm 106 being freely mounted on a sleeve 101, which is freely mounted on a shaft 100 and forms a bearing for a pawl plate 102 integral with the arm 106; the plate 102 is formed with a recess 103 and abutments 104, 105 which alternately engage a double pawl 111 on an arm 110 integral with sleeve 101. The pawl plate 102 is normally oscillated by a gear-wheel 99 in mesh with the gear-wheel 9 which forms part of the impression tripping-mechanism of the parent Specification. The pawl 111 is controlled by depressing the pedal 24, which trips the impression and inking cylinders as described in the parent Specification. The pedal 24 controls the pawl 111 by means of a spring-controlled rod 117 and a pivoted arm 112 which is similar to the arm of the inking-roller tripmechanism of the parent Specification. Motion is transferred from the pedal 24 to the rod 117 through a collar 116 secured to the rod by setscrews, which can be unscrewed when the transfer-trip is not required to be operative.
