Screw and worm conveyers. - Worm conveyers are provided with means for preventing leakage of gas through the casing, by causing the material to bank up at the delivery end. In the arrangement shown in Fig. 1, this is effected by adjusting the worm c longitudinally in its casing a to form a clear space at the end of the duct. The outer end of the worm is slidably keyed on a driving-shaft f, and is adjusted by a lever engaging a collar g. In a modification, the casing a has a telescopic delivery end.
