Stands.-Relates to means for operating the lids of preserve stands, drinking-vessels, biscuit or cigarette boxes, &c., of the kind in which a heel on the lid is depressed by a sliding block, and consists in an arrangement whereby, when the block is depressed, the lids are raised to such a position as to remain open until the block is first slightly raised. The block may be mounted in any of the ways shown.
