Docks, s t a g e s , and launching-ways.-A floating structure or dock for landing, launching, and housing hydro-aeroplanes comprises a deck 1, Figs. 4 and 7, which is preferably of such a height as to allow the wings of an aeroplane when floating on the water to pass over it, and to which is connected a platform 3, which may be free to slide vertically in guides, or may be pivoted at 12. The deck may be supported upon pontoons, and the height of the platform may be adjusted by allowing air or water to enter pontoons 13. In order to land and house a hydro-aeroplane, a trolly 5 fitted with castors is wheeled upon the platform, the latter is lowered, and the hydroaeroplane is floated over the trolly ; the platform is then raised by admitting pressure-air into the corresponding pontoons, until the platform is level with the deck. The trolly and its. load may then be moved laterally in front of the doors 6 of the shed 7, into which the aeroplane may then be wheeled. For mooring a hydro-aeroplane, horizontally or vertically pivoted booms 9 are provided as shown in Fig. 4, which shows these booms both in out-board and in-board position. The structure may be provided with a repairing-shed, offices, &c.
