Axles and axle structures.-A road wheel is mounted in a freely rotatable manner upon a non-driving axle which supports the frame of the vehicle by means of a bearing, in which this axle is free to rotate. In a live-axle drive of the type described in Specification 5116/13, the non-divided axle C, which traverses the driving-sleeves D and differential, is fitted at its outer ends with roller bearings F in a bracket G. A flange G1 arranged between washers G2 takes the end thrusts, and the bracket G supports the leaf springs H. In order to compensate for any tendency of the axle C to buckle, a transverse leaf spring may be fitted upon the casing of the differential.
