Wire couplings.-In apparatus for coupling and uncoupling aeroplane stay-wires, several coupling-devices are described, that shown in Fig. 2 consisting of interpenetrating members 4, 5 united by a pin 6 and a split pin 7. In a modification, the pin is formed with a flat 9 adapted, when revolved, to allow the withdrawal of the part 4, which is slotted at 8 and normally embraces the pin. In the form shown in Fig. 3, the part 4 is formed with a head 11 to engage spring-controlled jaws 10. The sleeve-shaped member 5 may be provided with internal projections 14, Fig. 7, and the part 4 with projections 15 to form a bayonet-joint.
