Stockings and socks. -Stockings and socks are knitted with u ndyed yarns at the parts such as 13, 12, Fig. 1, where dye is likely to be injurious to the wearer, the remaining parts which show and which are not subject to great wear are knitted with dyed yarn. The heel may be spliced and the splicing thread is completely knitted in and is not floated and cut off as in the usual method of splicing.
