Stamps, ore and like; cracking nuts.-In a nut-cracking machine of the stamp type, the nuts are fed into a receiver b opening into a pocket d, which preferably tapers downwards and is formed in two parts e, e held together by springs g. Below the pocket is arranged a spear m with two or more radial cutter arms n by which the nut is sliced. The arms n may be straight, convex, or concave; inwardly projecting cutters may also be employed with the arms n. The head of the stamp may be made hollow.
