Tool-holders; attachments for screwing and tapping.-A tool-holder for use in lathes &c. for performing b o r i n g, reaming, and screwthreading is adaptable for clamping in a sliderest or on a turret; it may be held between the centres at 10 to secure axial alinement preparatory to clamping. A polygonal shank 2 is slidable in a corresponding casing 1, which is clamped to the sliderest &c., and has a circular head 4 clamped between friction washers 8, which limit the working torque. Drills &c. are held by screws 51, and die-holding rings may be secured to the holder 5, either internally or externally.
