Washing - machines with rotary stirrers or with enclosed rotary receptacles.-The apparatus comprises a cylindrical body 1 with a bottom plate at some distance above the lower edge ; above the bottom plate is a rotary platform or disk 7, the spindle 4 of which passes through the bottom and supports a driving vane or paddle-wheel 5 against which a jet of water may be directed from a supply pipe 10. Apertures 9 are provided for the escape of the water. A removable lining 2 may be provided, which, together with the rotary platform, may be perforated. Instead of being separate, the rotary platform and lining may be in one piece, and the outer vessel may be provided with an inwardly-extending rim to prevent the water or other liquid from spilling. The lining and the spindle may be furnished with beaters.
