Table games.-Figures or 'ships' e are mounted on spring arms f and are arranged below slots d in a board a1 so that, on being lifted into position above the surface of the board, the edge of the figure engages with the edge of a slot or a catch plate, and the figure is retained above the surface of the board until struck by a projectile from a gun b, whereupon the figure is released and disappears beneath the surface of the board. The gun can be elevated and depressed, and can be rotated about a vertical axis. The casing of the apparatus is in the form of a box a, the sloping surfaces of the parts of the box forming the board a1.
