T r e a d projections and surfaces.-Strips, blocks, plates, disks, or studs, cut from natural .sheet cork or moulded from powdered cork combined with india-rubber or other binding-material, are secured within separate spaced grooves, recesses, or holes in, and may project beyond, the periphery of a tyre. The cork may be in the form of small cylindrical studs, or square, diamond, hexagonal, circular, or other shaped plates or disks, or cubes, spheres, hemispheres, or other shaped' blocks, or wedge, V, or other shaped strips.
