Sept. 3 Caulking.-A holder for rotating a workpiece in front of a percussive tool for riveting, caulking, &c. is mounted on a turntable so that it can be angularly adjusted relative to the tool, which may be of the type described in Specification 9329/11, and 24,090/12, [both in Class 124, Stone &c.], and 24,941/12. The shell S is placed in the holder g1, which is rotated in the turntable F through chain gear g2, a flexible shaft, and chain gear c3, by the motor C which operates the hammer B. The shell S is pressed towards the hammer by a cap H, having a ball-bearing pressure plate h1 and operated by a hand-lever h2, which may also control the starting-switch of the motor. The base-plate s1 is held in position by a spring pin K mounted on a bracket k2 adapted to be turned out of the way when required.
