Healds and reeds, threading.-In a machine operated by a pedal lever for selecting and separating warp threads for drawing-in purposes, and comprising a serrated base adapted to slide on a bar and carrying a slide, a selector hook, a feeler lever, and a comb co-operating with the serrations on the base for separating the threads, an operating-lever taking the place of the pedal lever, or transmission gearing operatively connected thereto, is actuated automatically and continuously by power through a crank or cam. Thus, the operating-lever e, Fig. 3, may be depressed, against the action of springs such as l, by a rod g with an adjustable nut n, and a crank h on a stub-shaft i driven by a belt j &c., or a cam on the stub-shaft may depress the operating-lever, or a crank-pin may depress an arm connected to the operating-lever. Change-speed gearing, such as a belt and stepped cones, may be interposed between the power shaft and the mechanism for actuating the operating-lever, which may be fitted with a stop-link u, Fig. 7, to engage a stop v to hold it inoperative when desired.
