17,874. Brand, J. Dec. 22. Blotting-appliances.-Blotters and blotting- pads are formed of black cotton linings which may have a stiffener of paper, cardboard, &c. inside or at the back. A ring passing through a hole in the corner may be used to secure the blotter by means of a chain.
