Spraying liquids in mines. -Relates to watering-tanks and spray-producers, particularly for use in coal mines, and consists of a tank a mounted on an undercarriage m and having at each end a trough d over which is arranged a rotating cane-beater or brush i, the supply of water to the troughs being controlled by a two-way valve c. The shafts g of the brushes are geared by belts, ropes, or chains e to the wheels n, and hinged grids f are arranged over the brushes. The troughs communicate by pipes h with a valve chamber, the valve c consisting of a slotted cylinder which can be set by a handle to cause either or both or neither of the pipes h to communicate with the tank.
