Moulding india-rubber wheel tyres, rollers, &c.- In the manufacture of rubber tyres, papermachine rollers, &c. by winding a calendered sheet 1 on to a mandrel &c. 3 under the pressure of a weighted roller 5, the roller is provided with a grooved or corrugated surface which may consist of plain teeth 14, Fig. 4, single helical 15, curved 16, circumferential 17, or double helical teeth 18. The roller is preferably steam-heated and positively driven. The roller may be pressed against the work or the work against the roller.
