Improvements in Riding Harnes for enabling Cyclists to Exert Increased Motive Power when Riding Bicycles, Tricycles, and the like Velocipedes.

Straps and bands. - Cyclists harness for enabling its rider to exert increased power is arranged so as automatically to disconnect from the cycle when the rider is dismounting or when thrown. It consists essentially of a clip for the cycle and a key attached to a body belt. The device is shown in use in Figs. 5 and 6 on a gentleman's and a lady's cycle respectively. It consists of a clip b having two jaws in which is a recess b' of the shape shown, and a loose strip or key a, of the shape shown, to which the cord or chain c leading to the waist belt is attached. In Fig. 5 the lower end of the key is shown resting in the bottom of the recess, and it may be prevented from being jerked out by having a pointed end to rest in a depression. In Fig. 6 the key is shown resting in the recess in an approximately horizontal position.
