Pestles and mortars; disk mills. - Relates to mills for grinding or mixing colours, drugs, ores, &c., of the type described in Specification 4479/02, and comprising a rotary pan 1 and a rotary eccentric pestle 2. The pan is enclosed in a casing 3, which supports the rotary bed-plate 4 of the pan, and is provided with a cover, which may be formed in one piece hinged to the casing, or, as shown, may consist of a fixed plate 5 and a detachable lid 5a. The plate 5 carries the bearing 7 of the pestle-shaft 8. A discharge-opening 10 in the pan is closed by a plug 11, rotatably mounted on an arm 13. The plug is moved by means of a hand-lever 14, which is secured to the arm 13 and held in the normal position by a pin 15, or is weighted for that purpose.
