Buttons. - For securing attachments to articles, and particularly metallic attachments to non-metallic articles, a divided resilient ring a is employed, which ie sprung into an undercut recess a1 in the article A so as to bear against an abutment b on the attachment d, the portion of the ring engaging the abutment being approximately flat. Fig. 3 shows an eyed shank d, which is formed by bending up the piece of sheet metal, Fig. 4, connected to a button A; the part e forming the eye is laminated to prevent abrasion of the securing thread. In the arrangement shown in Fig. 5, the wall of the undercut recess is curved throughout and the eyed shank d comprises a wire eye riveted to the disk b. In a further modification, (not shown) the eyed shank comprises a hollow domeshaped part integral with the eye. The ring a may be semicircular in cross-section, Fig. 5, or may have the cross-section shown in Fig. 3.
