摘要
125,614. Power, R. F. Sept. 9, 1916. Anchoring; starting. - Aeroplanes and air-ships are prevented from moving until the engine has attained full speed, by means of a detachable coupling which locks the wheels to the chassis until released by the pilot. In the form shown, couplings 6, adapted to engage studs, eyelets, &c. 3 on the wheels 1 and connected by a member 4 to a point 15 on the framework, are adapted to be released by means of Bowden mechanism 11 operated by the pilot from a handle 20. The coupling 6 is hinged at 7, Fig. 3, and normally held closed by a sleeve 8 retained in position by a spring 9, the Bowden mechanism 11 acting on the sleeve in opposition to the spring. A spring 12 may be provided in the member 4. Instead of two separate connexions 4, a cable may be provided connecting the couplings at the two sides of the machine. The couplings, when released, may be drawn up by a spring 30 and cable 31 so as to be visible by the pilot.
