Ordnance, pneumatic; chambers.-Relates to guns in which the propellent explosive charge is fired in a separate container and the gases generated are reduced in pressure before admission to the gun barrel. According to the invention, the charge container b is made of comparatively small volume, and the outlet therefrom allows the gases to pass out from the ignited end of the charge to an expansion chamber a from which they then pass to the gun barrel c through a restricted passage d. As shown, the outlet from the container b is preferably constituted by a number of small holes arranged alongside the container. In a modification, the chamber a is connected to the barrel by a short pipe. Specification 6598/95 is referred to,
