Machine guns.-Relates to automatic guns, particularly those of the Vickers type used on aircraft, and consists in providing external conduits for the empty cartridge belts or elements thereof and for the spent cartridges. In the form shown, a tube A2 for the used belts or belt elements and a tube A3 for the spent cartridges are attached to the mechanism casing of the gun A. The gun is mounted on links A' so as to move in elevation about pivots a1 carried by brackets a on a part ax of the fuselage of an aeroplane. The tubes A2, A3 lead to a fixed tube B which discharges the used parts overboard or into a receptacle.
