Coin-handling appliances.-In a paying-apparatus, the paying-board 1 is pivoted on a stand 5, and can be tilted to either side by raising the corresponding money-basin 2, which is pivoted to an arm on the standard, so that the tail 3 of the money-basin bears on a cam piece 4 fixed to the paying-board, the money then sliding from the board into the basin. When the latter is released, it falls together with the hand which holds it, the money passes into the hand, and the board resumes its horizontal position. When the basin has returned to its normal position, i.e. with the tail 3 vertical, the tail forms a stop which prevents the paying-board from being tilted by pressure on its surface, e.g. when a coin is put down roughly. The money-basins 2 may have openings through which the coins pass directly into the receiver's hand.
