摘要
143,387. Dowty, F. W. May 20, 1919. Battery lamps.-Fig. 2 shows a plan of a lamp in which two batteries c, d are provided, either of which can be used independently of the other for supplying current to the bulb u. The bulb is held in a socket j fixed to the metal container a, the centne contact t of the bulb making contact with a spring-pressed metal plate r within an insulated metal cup q. A curved metal blade v is secured to the cup q and makes contact with the terminals x, w of the batteries. The circuit can be completed through the casing a and either battery by independent switches 11, 12. The batteries are held in position by springs e, f and an abutment g on the casing and a spring h on the hinged door b, which also carries a holder 20 for a spare bulb 21. The door is locked, when closed, by a rod which passes through tubular elements 18, 19 on the door and casing. A hook 22 is provided for fastening the lamp to a belt, the cover having also a hinged handle.
