Improvements in and relating to apparatus applicable to railway guns for transferring ammunition from an ammunition waggon

Field carriages; loading - appliances. -Consists in providing the rear bogie A1 of a railway guncarriage frame A with a loading frame B having a track b1 for a tray C which transfers ammunition from a wagon D to the breech of the gun. The frame B is provided with swinging arms b3, b5 which, in the loading position shown in Fig. 1, bridge the spaces between the frame B and the frames A and D. The arms b5 have rails for a tray E which conveys the ammunition beneath a crane F that serves to transfer it to the tray C. This tray runs on rails on the arms b3 which rails are in line with rails a2 on the frame A leading to the gun breech. In the travelling position shown in Fig. 3, the arms b3, b5 are folded against the frame B, and the bogie A1 is moved forwards relatively to the frame A. In a modification, the frame B and arms b5, b3 form a rising track for a single tray from the wagon D to the frame A. In a further modification, the tracks b3, b5 telescope into the frame B for travelling.
