Bearings, determining wirelessly; wireless control of distant apparatus.-A wireless directionfinder comprises two frame aerials fixed at an angle to one another and associated with a differential detector, which gives a null effect when the direction of the sending station bisects the angle between the coils. The device may be used to control automatically a ship or aircraft, which may be thereby steered towards or away from the sending station. A compass may be associated with the apparatus to prevent the vessel from following the wrong bisector. A plurality of sending stations may co-operate in controlling the vessel.
