Receptacles for apparatus; detaching-gear. - A life-buoy 2 is supported against gravity in a receptacle by a forked latch .member 3 which normally blocks the open bottom of the receptacle 1 but which is adapted to be withdrawn by means of a lanyard 6. Between the limbs of the latch member a flag-float 5, attached to the buoy by a rope, is loosely supported so as to be released with the buoy when the latch member is withdrawn from the container.
