Protractors; curve-describing instruments.-An apparatus for drawing stencil designs, ornamental, and geometrical figures and designs for embroidery &c. consists of a disk provided with various shaped apertures and rotatably mounted on a drawing surface by a pin passing through its centre. A flat disk a, of cardboard or stiff paper, adapted to rotate about a pin passing through a central hole c, is provided with apertures e of polygonal, curved, circular and ornamental shapes, such as triangles, arcs, leaves, &c., the edges f - - p of some of the apertures corresponding respectively to a side of an inscribed triangle, quadrilateral, pentagon, &c. The outside edge r of the disk is graduated so that when. a portion of a design is drawn by passing a drawing instrument along the edges of the corresponding apertures the disk may be rotated through the required angles and the design completed. Holes q are provided along a radius in which a drawing instrument may be inserted and concentric circles drawn by rotating the disk. Fig. 2 shows a design such as may be produced.
