Violins and like bowed instruments.-In an automatically played instrument of the violin type the strings are set parallel on a paralleledged fingerboard, the tuning pegs being of the machine head type with the finger pieces brought to the front. The 2nd and 3rd strings are interchanged in position so as to allow of double stopping by the action of two doubleheaded depressors.
