Post files; locks.-A loose-leaf book is provided with one or more rotatable filing-posts 2 cranked at the upper end 4 and mounted on the lower leaf or cover 5 of the book, the cranked ends cooperating with a corresponding number of slots 11 in the upper cover 9 or in members 10 secured thereto, so that the upper cover may be retained or released according to the position of the cranked ends of the posts. The posts, which are passed through the lower cover or leaf, are formed with a head at the lower end and are secured in position by a covering-plate 6, a washer 8 being preferably provided between the head and cover. The cover may be recessed to accommodate the heads. To the upper cover are secured slotted members 10, the slots 11 therein being approx - mately of similar dimensions to the cranked end 4 of the posts. The ends 4 are accommodated in recesses 12 in the members 10 when in engaged position. A key comprising a handle having a slotted extension may be provided for turning the posts. A follower-plate may also be provided.
