Operating vehicle doors by conductor. - In a train of cars, the guard stationed between adjacent cars is able to control mechanically the operation of all the slidable doors of each car from his station. Along each side of each car is through links 13, 14 and a geared counterweight 19, each rod 12 being arranged to control the operation of the door motors 11 as by links 20 connected with the motor valves. By this arrangement, one guard only suffices for the operation of the doors of a pair of cars. The lever 15 and gearing 17, 18, 19 may be protected by a cover 23. Look-out steps 22 and door-indicating signals 24 may also be provided.
