Vaccines; bacteria, cultivating.-A vaccine for conferring immunity from measles is prepared by inoculating a culture medium with a virus obtained by filtering the nasapharyngeal secretion, or blood, of a measles patient, and incubating for 12 to 16 days. The culture medium consists of human blood, from which the corpuscles have been removed centrifugally, diluted with a liquid which possesses and retains the same physical-chemical properties as blood. The diluent is preferably prepared from human blood by ultra-filtration under pressure. A typical chemical analysis of the diluent is given in the Specification.
