Charts.-A device for the graphic representation of data comprises a plane or other surface upon which are arranged combs having teeth adapted to hold the thread or wire forming the graph. Figs. 4 and 5 show the application to a plane surface. The combs 1 having teeth 2 are positioned on a base board by distance-pieces 3 which may be of different widths. The thread 7 is taken over selected teeth to produce the diagram desired, and is tensioned by a weight 8 to which an identification label may be attached, or by a pulley 9. The teeth 2 may have notches for retaining the thread, and the combs mav be coloured or marked, and may be protected by caps. The distance-pieces 3 may have graduations 6, and the board may be faced with celluloid and protected by a glass sheet. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also the statement that the combs may be arranged for polar diagrams, and that functions having three independent variables may be represented by the use of three boards. The combs may be replaced by clamps or movable pegs. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
