217,735. Harvey, M. May 22, 1923. Rearing-appliances.-A brooder comprises a hood 1 mounted so as to be adjustable in height by means of a screw. Uprights 3, that may be secured to a heat radiator 8, pass through the hood 1 and support a cross-bar 4 that carries a screw 5. A nut 7 secured to the hood coacts with the screw 5 so that the hood is raised or lowered on turning the handle 6. Water or steam may be circulated in the radiator 8 by means of pipes 9, 10 and may also pass through a heating element 12 mounted on the hood. Windows and a hit-andmiss ventilator may be fitted in the hood.
