Joint-making packing.-In a dynamo-electric machine which is cooled by the circulation of a gas lighter than air, the joints of the casing. especially at the bearings, are sealed by liquid such as oil under pressure. The bearing- housing 10 is attached to the end wall 11 of the casing by a flange 13 in which is formed a groove 12 to which oil under pressure greater than that obtaining in the casing is supplied by a pipe 8 and a passage 14 in the wall of the housing.
