Cutting or dividing glass. - A device for severing glass tubes, rods, decanters, &c. comprises a hand-piece 3 having parts 1 forming a V-shaped opening, the opposed faces of the parts 1 carrying extended surfaces 2 of carborundum, quartz, &c. The piece to be severed is placed in the opening and relative rotation is imparted to the piece and the device whereby a groove is cut in the piece. One of the surfaces 2 may be formed with teeth, the other being plain.
