263,470. K³pker, G., and Koch, R. Nov. 1, 1926. Balls.-The hemispherical sections a, a1 of a football cover are formed with recesses c' at their edges to take a ring c covering the lacing and forming a continuous surface with the rest of the ball. Loops d are threaded through one another, being secured to one section and passing through eyelets f in the overlapping section, or when the two sections meet without overlapping, the loops are connected in staggered formation to both sections and are laced across the joint. One loop d2 is secured to the valve g, and the last loop d1 is passed over a toggle h1 also secured to the valve. The lacing may extend only part way round the ball, the remainder of the cover sections being connected by stitching &c. A lining, preferably of double thickness material with the threads arranged crossways, may be provided for the cover.
