Sept. 28, 1926, Traps; silt boxes.-A removable trap for sink pipes &c. comprises a dish-shaped body member and a perforated lid member having a sliding frictional fit in or on the mouth of the body member, liquid in the trap normally closing a circuitous passage through it to prevent the upward passage of fumes. The circular sheet-metal body member a, Fig. 2, has an upstanding outer flange a' and a curved inner flange a2 round a central aperture a3. The lid b has rings of perforations b2 and a depending flange b1 fitting tightly over the flange a1. A bell or inverted cup c is secured on the lid by the handle d. The trap may be fitted in a recess in the sink. In a modification the lid b fits in the body member a and the latter is flanged outwardly so as readily to be located in a sink aperture. In the form shown in Fig. 5, a perforated dish-shaped member a is fitted with a perforated lid b and has riveted to it another dish-shaped member e which is not perforated.
