Back struts. - Means for arresting mine &c. trucks in the event of breakage or detachment of the coupling comprises a pair of drags B pivoted at b1 to the draw-bar A which is slidably mounted in brackets a. The drags are also connected by links C to a link D pivoted on the vehicle. The forward drag is held in an inoperative position by turning the link D into the raised position shown at the left hand of the figure. The rear drag is also held clear of the track as long as there is a pull on the draw-bar, but if this is relaxed a spring H pulls the drag into engagement with the track and arrests or prevents movement of the vehicle. Excessive movement of the drag is prevented by engagement thereof with a fixed bracket E. Fixed guides G are provided for the drags.
