Rollers or cylinders.-All the three rollers a, b, c of a calendering apparatus or compressor for acting on the cloth or like coverings of drawing and other textile rollers are driven. As shown, the. rollers are of the same size, the rollers a, c are driven by the main belt a2, and the roller b is driven from the roller c by belts c1, e and an idle pulley d mounted on the axis of the lever b1 carrying the movable roller b. The pressure of the roller b on the work can be varied bv ad. justing a weight h on the treadle for raising the roller.
