290,428. Hibbert, H. April 25. 1927. Lubricant conveyed by fluid.-Oil or water is drawn into the induction system of an internalcombustion engine by the suction prevailing therein from a tank A through a depending tube C, past a piston valve F, through a passage E, an adjustable sight-feed device D, and a pipe H. The valve F, which is provided with flats or the like so as to permit the passage of the liquid, is pressed towards a seating M by an adjustable spring G, so that, when the engine is stopped, the valve moves on to its seating and prevents siphoning. During the operation of the engine the valve is raised from its seating by the suction action and, if the suction increases, progressively closes the passage E, thus maintaining an approximately constant flow. Specifications 15597/12, 210,898, [Class 135, Valves &c.], and 224,301, are referred to.
