Collar stiffeners; necktie retainers.-A collar stiffening and necktie retaining means comprises a pair of flat metal strip devices c formed with a stem portion c2 housed in a pocket b1 of the collar and with an open helical loop c1 for the necktie. The tension of the necktie pulls the loop c in the direction of the arrow, thereby forcing the stem portion c2 and the point of the collar towards the wearer's shirt. The loop prevents the necktie binding in the collar.
