Medicines for internal use.-The process described in the parent Specification for purifying extracts of the active principle of the ovary is applied to other glands of internal secretion such as male germ glands and the anterior lobe of the hypophysis. According to an example gland material is extracted with an organic solvent, the concentrated mass taken up in ether, the solution freed from ether by evaporation, and the residue taken up in diethylin. Impurities are eliminated by fractional precipitation with water, and the filtered liquid finally concentrated.
