摘要
304,197. Schoenfeld, M. Jan. 16, 1928, [Convention date]. Circulating or passing fluids through materials on perforated tubes and drums. -Threads, especially of artificial silk, are wound on a drum whose outer surface is formed of arcuate. longitudinal members 3 which are projected radially outwards (e.g. by placing the whole on a mandrel, so that the heads 4 of the stems carrying the longitudinal members contact with the inner drum members 1). The longitudinal members 3 are then retracted, though sufficient tension remains in the thread to cause it still to cling to the drum. The wound drum is then placed vertically in a liquid container and its ends closed (the upper end by a spring-pressed cover-plate), liquid being either forced outwardly or sucked inwardly through the threads. The longitudinal members 3 are perforated, and each has an ext-ension 31 along one edge to maintain contact with the adjacent member when projected.
